Raising the OEM Screen
« on: April 17, 2019, 15:50:10 »
Decided to have a go at making some brackets to fit on the original windscreen brackets, in order to raise the screen a bit. I'm 5ft 11 and the original screen in the top position just didn't work for me. Rather than buy a new aftermarket screen, which you all know, are not cheap, For now, I decided to have a go. The pictures show the result.
Does it work, yes, there is much improvement and I am happy with the outcome, but, IMHO the OEM screen is not wide enough and you do get wind from the sides, not helped ( I think) by the Barn Door mirrors, which I am not criticising, because they are the best mirrors I have ever had on a bike. The screen is now 2 inches higher.

That looks super neat! Well done!  :text-bravo:
I have heard that having a tank bag also reduce the buffeting.

To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Thanks, blokes. I'm glad you think they're alright. I was thinking of buying a tank bag, all the better if it reduces buffeting.

I can believe that a tank bag would help, I've felt a huge rush of turbulence coming from either side of the forks and up/over the tank.

Perhaps.perhaps not. I will be buying one sometime, it'll be interesting to see if it offers any protection from the wind, etc.
