DL1000 and DL650 seats - interchangeable?

Hi,

I saw a few topics in the market place section where people asked for or offered swaps of DL1000 and DL650 seats - are they interchangeable?
The reason I am asking - I am thinking of buying a V-Strom 1000 (2017) but I found the seat to be uncomfortable when I was test riding the bike. Yet when I was test driving the 650 (2017) the seat felt perfect for me. The dealer said that standard seats were fitted on both, so I am thinking of buying the DL1000 and getting a 650 seat for it - is this a good idea?

I'm not sure about the later gen models, but you can get the seats reshaped/modified for around £100.

I always thought the pre L (2011) models were the only ones with interchangeable seats. Happy to be proved wrong (again).

Same here. I think it is pre 2012 that you can swap.

I have a KLV seat on my DL650AK9,fits perfectly and is higher,perfect for me.

I thought the Low seat option for the current Gen 1000 and the 650 Seat are the same item no?

Just checked both part numbers are different, slightly different shaped seat

Well I'll take that back. I did look a while back but must have me numbers Donkey 'ed up
