Brake Magazine V-Strom project bike
« on: October 04, 2018, 20:58:28 »
Hello

Brake Magazine have taken a V-Strom and thrown a couple of grand at in an attempt to make it into a true off-road capable adventure bike.

These blokes run the BMW Off Road Skills centre and have raced and finished the Dakar Rally. So they know a thing or two about this.

Was talking to them in September on their Brecon Beacons ride and they really rate the V-Strom.

Saw something similar on a German site, fully upgraded Vee, looked good but if you're going the spend that much money you'd might as well buy a KTM 1090R.

I've just been mailed by Brake Magazine... their project bike has been stolen!

....WE NEED YOUR HELP
Our V-Strom 650 XT Project Bike has been stolen. We're based in the Swansea Area of South Wales, UK. It's not far from stock condition and has been fitted with Metzeler Karoo 3 Tyres, Flexx Handlebars and Handguards and Outback Motortek Crashbars and Sumpguard.

Please share this post as widely as possible. We'd really like to finish filming our project!

Thanks in advance for your help.

 ### I hope they get the bike back and the scumbags 'fall over' a few times when they're caught  :violence-smack:

Holmsey, get thi' sen darn't Wales sharpish.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Will keep my eyes peeled... but I may be blinded by the sight of the beak on the thing if I do come across it.

Does anyone know what became of all this? Was the bike found?
