Is it my router?
« on: October 22, 2018, 17:20:35 »
Since the weekend's change of address my only access to this forum is via mobile data on my phone. If I switch wifi on on the phone, I get taken to the maintenance message. Wifi off, refresh page, instant connection. The hardwired pc won't play nice, either. Caches cleared, dns flushed, still no go. Is the router retaining information?  If so, what, where, and how to delete/ overwrite with new data?
Thank you.

Try deleting any page links to the site and then retyping.

Bookmarks deleted. Even a Google search for the forum works on non wifi but not on wifi, which is what makes it seem router - related.

I didn't have to do anything for the PC to connect properly. However I have just tried on my phone via my wifi and I too get the maintenance page.  er..... I don't know .....

If you power cycle your Router that might help (it should allocate a new IP address).

That's what I thought would do it. Tried it 3 times, last one it was off for 7 hours.

Laptop is getting correct connection via wifi . it's now just the phone that can't get in.( for some time I have wanted to treat the phone to a bucket of water so maybe the time is now!)

The phone is now connecting correctly and has just avoided a watery plunge.
