My feet have landed ...
« on: July 02, 2019, 20:15:52 »
Well , sort of ..

Another shout out to https://www.viking-motorcycle-seats.co.uk/mobile/ , had my seat lowered today and all done in an hour while I waited for £75 . Great job ..  :thumb:

A standard OEM lower seat from BMW would have set me back nearly £300 ...

I went there last weekend .... and had a chat with him .... took him the specs for my old seat and he said he would be happy to help ...
He seems a really nice bloke.

Did you save the foam that was removed? I hope you saved the foam that was removed.

BMW foam is excellent at soaking up the inevitable oil leaks.

Excellent work by the way, don't listen to the jealous people ridiculing your beak. Listen to the ones ridiculing your fat arse because they put the tank in the wrong place. :)

That seat looks factory kwackboy, very nice.
The beak looks of a good quality and suits the bike  :thumb:

Be interested to know how you get on with this one, I.e. quality of parts and fasteners.
Serv had a NUDA in which the engine was / was based on the BMW unit - did quite a high mileage without any problems.

Covered around 260miles so far and I'm quietly impressed. It's very easy to ride with a great engine and gearbox , nice power delivery (more than I thought),  excellent brakes and superb suspension, infact I'm well impressed with the handling In particular considering the style of the bike.
Build quality seems good apart from the left switch gear its touch sensitive which is annoying but I guess I will get used to it.
The other disappointment is the petrol tank , although it's big (6 gallons ISH) but such an odd shape that gauge only gives accuracy under half full so you don't get tank range , just a trip meter so I will have to go old school and reset the trip every time I fill up.
With spirited riding I've averaged 62mpg and the tank is still just under half full with 260miles on the trip

The motor is sweet and gives very usable power, I've seen high mileage F800s that are still going and it's this and the tank range that I bought into so considering I took a punt and didn't even test ride it I guess it's so far so good but time will tell all ..  :thumb:
