Fuel line clamp.
« on: August 09, 2018, 11:35:56 »
I broke down the other day, going along nicely and it cut out completely, when I stopped there was fuel all over the engine, what happened was the flexible fuel line to the metal pipe under the tank had come adrift, would a common old jubillee clip suffice ?....bob
I have a 2009 DL650.

I don't think I would do that...it's a mechanism which joins the hose to the tank. Maybe the tank has been off and the hose hadn't clicked into place? Might it just need another try at connecting?

That happened to me on the ride out to whitby the other week, I had the tank off and not put the connection back properly, I left the white plastic bit on the metal pipe instead of putting it in the end of the connection. :fix:

Hopefully that's it - easily missed out, but needs a positive 'click', and the tabs to jut out a bit more. I found out the hard way as well!

bobbymc - Don't forget the fuel pump is in the tank and it pressurises the fuel
