Unidentified rubber block ?
« on: May 14, 2018, 14:44:18 »
While cleaning my 2015 Glee today, a rubber block fell out of the bike, it's a block 13 mm square by 30 mm long,
Any idea where it came from , looks like a cushion type pad to protect something !
Regards
Woody

Is it one of the under-seat rubbers?

(Edit - Just looked at mine. The size is about right but mine have one serrated edge?)

Thanks MartinW
Just checked and it's not one off the seat , may have come from the side panel area as it looks like a spacer or similar

There's a cushion mentioned in the rear mudguard section of the parts view, see item #8 at https://www.bike-parts-suz.com/Suzuki-motorcycle/650-Motorcycle/V-STROM/2015/DL650XA-L5-E99-/BODY-FRAME/REAR-mudguard/11111000/11111048/C/6152
Not sure though how it's mounted there.

No idea how to prevent that funny board software from replacing the term F-E-N-D-E-R always with "mudguard", which invalidates the link I tried to post above.
Pls. try to open the link and, since you'll be presented with a 404, replace the term "mudguard" accordingly.

There are some bodywork rubber blocks/pads each side of the tank. I've found a couple not glued on properly. Could be your source Woodflyer.

Have you taken the tank side panels off at all? It's not an easy operation unless you can feel what they're doing.
So how's it going so far then?

Thanks tdo, had a look but it's hard to identify.
Thanks Joe
I have taken the tank panel off previously and didn't notice them, going to change the air filter soon so will check .

My first thought was side panels. Possible the black/carbon panels on the side near the tank. One of mine disappeared from there :icon_no:

I suspect it's one of the 2 blocks from under the tank, as Joe Rocket mentioned, put there by Suzuki probably to stop vibes? They have a part number, G6 or something? At least, on the old Wees ...
