Me and my mate are in cleethorpes and his k7 1000 just started playing up. If he pulls the clutch in the bike dies and you can hear the injectors buzzing like an earth fault. With the bike off if he pulls clutch in the bike tries to fire. No other button just pull in the clutch. Any ideas ?

Some wires are pinched or have overheated their insulation and melted together. Disconnect the battery and check the wiring, especially in the area behind the radiator top shroud and the handlebar switches. I'm afraid this is likely to be a big job.

We managed to start the bike and then disconnected the clutch switch and have not had a problem all the way back. Wouldn’t you e thought the clutch switch would cause that.

It only would if something else went wrong. At least you'll have better conditions for a check when you get back okay. There is definitely something wrong with the ignition wiring if anything can be active with the ignition switch off.

Is it fitted with an alarm/immobiliser? Had something very similar on mine and this was the cause. Took the alarm off and all was OK.

yes it is actually.b its the datatool RED he just said. its really weird to be honest.
with the clutch switch disconnected its been fine. so my mate thought it may be the switch. I'm wondering if with the switch disconnected its breaking the circuit. plug it back in and its making the circuit live again?

Whatever the cause, disconnecting the clutch switch is a temporary measure. Its interaction with the problem is an effect, not a cause. You need to find the cause and fix it.

that's the plan, its just knowing where to start. We are Going to test the loom from the clutch switch for continuity and take it from there.

Check the non stock wiring first. That's nearly a sure thing to being the cause of the problem.
