TC ABS light and Engine Management Light all came on
«
on:

Went over a bump in the road and the TC ABS & Engine management lights all came on. The power cut as if it was running on 1 cylinder and I rolled it to a stop.
I lifted the seat and checked as much as I could get at, was all tight and connected and looked for any fluid leaks but all seemed fine so I re-started it and it fired up fine and feels like both cylinders are firing - but all 3 of the the lights stayed on along with FI flashing on the dash and the speedo doesn't work just reads 0mph . The rest of the dash seems fine - the oil light goes out and the gear position works.
It is booked into the dealer for first service on Monday and they will look into this as well.
Has anyone else had this problem with their 2017 ?

most odd, not heard of that one before .Off the top of my head could it be a wheel speed sensor got its knickers in a twist when you walloped it?

Yes. Check that the sensors are in place, their attachment bolts are tight and their wiring is intact. Also make sure the sensor rings didn't get bent. It wouldn't hurt to see if anything is obviously wrong with the ABS pump too.

Presumably the wheel sensors are down by the rear caliper somewhere ?

I don't know if this works with Suzuki but my pal's EM light came on on his Tiger 1050, and all we did was buy an ODB reader cable and some free software in order to read the codes.
On Triumphs if a code cause goes away it takes three cycles of the engine to get the lights to go out - unless the error returns.
I have one for my Explorer but have never needed on efor my Strom. (Think it works off the same connection I have my Gear Indicator connected to)

Each wheel has a sensor. Look for a ring on each wheel that has a bunch of little rectangular holes in it. That's the sensor ring. Each will have a sensor nearly touching it. The front sensor is under the right front caliper hanger with a cable running to it. The rear sensor is above the axle near the caliper.

Would wheel sensors account for the "FI" on the dash and the engine management light ? It also felt like it had run out of fuel (or gone onto 1 cylinder) for a few hundred yards till I stopped it. It went back onto "2 cylinder feel" after I re-started it.

Thank you blokes - It may be sorted ! - on closer inspection the front wheel sensor was really loose. I have tightened it up and a quick ride up and down the drive and it looks fixed. I guess the FI & engine management light also come on when the speed sensors go wrong I shall know for next time. I will go for a proper ride in the morning but I guess that's it.
Just shows how great a forum is. I would not have slept till Monday worrying about cracked circuit boards or difficult dealer problems but instead I can now sleep sound.
Thank you tons and tons for your help blokes !! The drinks are on me if you are ever in Basingstoke....can't think of any other reason you would visit Basingstoke but Hello !

Odd, that's never happened before......
Don't worry about it, concentrate on the sensors - then type "blokes" (sic ) into the search box.

That's the Americanism filter. It only accepts Fat Rat English. If you ever get an FI again, it's easy to find the code and the problem it reports. See

This happened to me on only my second ride on a brand new bike I got on Tuesday.
Quick twiddle of the front sensor and F1 and EM light went out, still got TC and ABS lights on, but think they will disappear after the next ride.
Thanks

Check the ABS wheel sensors and the sensor rings they read as mentioned earlier.

Pat, it is just English, all that twaddle that is filtered out is American. U.S English is a figment of Bill Gates imagination, there is no such language.

I just thought since you want English to be a dead language, I'd reply with one.

I can live with evolution and progression, Americanisms and text speak are neither.
Sorry to the OP for the hijack
