Glee rear preload adjuster
« on: August 20, 2017, 17:51:52 »
Hi
I took the misses out on the bike this afternoon and went to wind the preload up. It was stuck so I gave it a squirt with some wd40 and sure enough it started turning again but the little knotch/click it used to make isn't happening. So I took the knob off to see of that was spinning on the nut underneath but sure enough the adjuster was moving as it should.
My question is- has whatever makes the click just stuck so isn't making a sound or is the adjuster broken?

Hi

Mine has never worked properly I just pull off the plastic knob and use a socket. Hope this helps

The click comes from two ball detents and coil springs under the knob. If you take off the knob, they tend to leave unless well glued together with grease.

Fair enough, I probably dropped them on the floor!
Thanks for the help.

They are really of little use. You can count rotations instead of clicks. A dab of paint or other creative indicator can help with that.
