Riding my bike last week, the rear wheel did not feel right. On checking it, yep you guessed, rear wheel bearing gone.
New bearings from wemoto, arrived this afternoon
So 1 hours labour and new bearings fitted and no more wobbly wheel.

Personally I never buy bearings from motorcycle parts suppliers, I go to a bearing supplier, normally get better quality bearings for less money. Simply bearings is one of my favourites - https://simplybearings.co.uk/

Right. The bike uses industry standard bearings. I would avoid Chinese made bearings as the quality control is spotty. You could get a good one but may get a poor one. Japanese, American and Western European made bearings are good ones.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

The only problem with going to a bearing supplier is that you need all the correct specifications to order the correct bearing. I know you can search on-line for the details but sometimes it's easier to be able to just ask for 'a rear wheel bearing for a V-Strom please.' You do pay extra for this laziness though.

The Simply Bearings site does look good though - I've added it to my favourites list  :thumb:

All the information you need for identication is on the bearing, same goes for seals. Wemoto are very competitive on bearing price until they add carriage, they also list the sizes. Koyo and SKF are my personal choices for quality, my ebay search would be 20x47x14 koyo. 1st search comes in at £4.70 inc carriage.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Slighty OT, a friend in the 80's was always going on about how good the build quality of his BMW R100S was compared to the "Jap scrap" I rode, the look on his face when changing his front wheel bearings and finding they had "made in Japan" on them was priceless  :)
