Word to the wise: Check your chain length
« on: August 06, 2017, 17:46:39 »
Don't do what Lobrau, the muppet, does and buy a chain and sprocket kit off ebay for a '2015 DL1000', break the old chain, go to fit the new one and discover that your shiny new 112 link chain doesn't bloody fit! It's now a very heavy and expensive garage ornament for the time being.

Sprockets are the same size/teeth just the chain is a few links short. Thoughts on buying a few rivet links and lengthening with those or would it create a weakpoint?

Supposed to be heading down south for a mate's wedding this weekend as well

EDIT: Just realised I still wouldn't have the inner link if I bought more rivet links. :groan: Might have to spend more and get the right length chain if the ebay seller doesn't reply sharpish tomorrow

That's the one, Zippy. Unfortunately there was no indication on the ebay listing about the length of the chain. The box that the chain came in didn't have any decipherable length on it without the power of hindsight either, just a cryptic part number.

Hoping the seller sorts it out quick or I'll be forking out more cash to get one rushed from Amazon or the like
