New JT front sprockets with dampers.

Just for info, noticed JT are making front sprockets with the rubber dampers (like OEM) but at a fraction of the cost.
You can get them on eBay.

Yes, I noticed that too. Bought one ready for an impending chain and sprockets change.

Silly question time - Is the large nut that holds the sprocket onto the shaft right hand or left hand thread?
Couldn't get mine undone as the breaker bar was bending that much I was in fear of it snapping. Tried both ways and it didn't budge - even with heat.

The large front sprocket nut is removed by turning it anti clockwise . Its proberbly got thread lock holding it .

Ta for the confirmation - it's what I suspected anyway.
I did heat the nut in hopes it would help release any threadlock, maybe I didn't heat it enough as I didn't want to damage the sprocket shaft seal.
I'll have another go on Saturday now I know it is right hand thread.

If you can't undo it best thing to do is ride with the front sprocket cover off to your local car tyre fitting garage and ask them to loosen it for you with their air tools, they are bound to have a big 32mm socket .

A 1-1/4" socket works fine too. I used a 3ft breaker bar before I bought an impact tool. There is the old trick of putting a long pipe over the handle of the tool.

I'll nip it up to work as the boss has air tools in the workshop.
The breaker bar was getting some serious bend - my son was working the bar, as he is stronger than me, while I was hanging onto the brakes.
I've got a good length of scaffold tube which I have used in the past but since I bought a breaker bar I've not used it.

I borrowed an electric rattle gun (see link below) from my boss and it whizzed the nut off in 2 seconds. I was so impressed I thought I'd get one - and then I saw the price

That's the exact model we have . Nice piece of kit , although we still have to use air powered guns for more extreme cases .
