Lambda sensor
« on: October 12, 2021, 21:24:31 »
My bike is a DL650 AL2 2012 with only 5000 miles which I have owned for 6 months . At around 5000rpm in 6th gear there is a flat spot in the power. This is most noticible on dual carriageways and motorways when trying to maintain a steady 60 to 70 mph. I have been told that this may be due to the Lambda sensor leaning out the fueling excessively. I am getting 67mpg which compares to my previous bikes (VFR800) 35_40mpg.
Would a Lambda sensor eliminate kit resolve this or could there be another issue?

Hi, I have the same year bike with 4,000 miles. From my experience an aftermarket exhaust can give slight flat spots, which was partially cured (more low down stomp) when the lambda sensor failed (f1 light flashes) and I fitted the smartmoto eliminator, but then fully cured and more responsive when I changed the air filter last year (it was on its original one).
Mine is also on its original plugs, being iruidium they are good for at least 25k repotedly.
Has your air filter ever been changed?

Thanks for the reply, I fitted a Smartmoto elimitater today and the bike runs perfectly now. Many thanks for your help.
