Fuel an go..
« on: June 20, 2017, 20:58:30 »
Flicking through a few of my petrol receipts following a lap of Europe further emphasised how good a real world bike the Glee is.
Two-up, fully laden with panniers/topbox, across mountains passes, nadgery twisty bits and motorway blasts and all without trying it returned -
a low of 49, then 55.4, 59.8, 60.5, 60.8 and a best of 62.4 mpg.
What a great tool it is.  :thumb:

Yep, it's good - my old Wee only does 53mpg.

But some modern cars to 80mpg, so I think the Bike Manufacturers are not really trying.

The problem with bikes is aerodynamic drag. http://www.bgsoflex.com/airdragchart.html
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

I've had my Glee since September and done 3000 miles roughly, a mix of motorway, 2 up and blasting around back roads. The trip meter has been running since I bought it and is showing 62mpg. The other trip meter I reset every time I fill up, and the worst I've had is 52mpg and that was mostly 90mph motorways.

have you ever tried checking the reality against the trip meter.. Brim it go ride,  brim it and divide miles by litres ? I don't know about bikes so much but many cars lie
