rear wheel hitting mudguard
« on: April 14, 2017, 12:37:58 »
Since fitting rear suspension lowering links the rear wheel makes contact with the underside of the rear mudguard when riding 2 up with full luggage. noticeable when going into a dip in the road compressing the suspension. I have wound up preload to maximum and altered the damping one turn clockwise.  just wondered if a hyperpro spring would help or is it possible to fit another bump stop to the piston rod of the shocker to limit travel.  anybody had one apart?

Well the Hyperpro spring works when the bike hasn't been lowered if that's any help. I had the same problem and fitted one to the original shock. No problem at all now two up with full luggage. As to will it do the same with a lowered bike I don't know, but I have no doubt someone on here will tell you!

Make sure the wheel does not eat away at the underside, and make a hole a big problem if it does, as water will get in under the seat. :thumb:
