« on: March 03, 2017, 17:05:49 »
Hi, I have a 2006 DL1000 and the shock absorber needs replacing for the MOT, its the rebound part of the shock that's faulty, can a shock be repaired..???  if not what shock should I put in as an original cost over £1000 plus fitting...  :(    Cheers

There are several companies that can rebuild your original shock. Google it you'll find them. This company has been around for several years and have a good reputation.  http://www.brooksuspension.co.uk/

Hi I personally wouldn't bother reworking the standard shock, what I have done with mine and also my 1200 bandit is I bought a shock from hagon shocks they are excellent you will get a peplacement for around £350-£400 give them a ring you won't be disappointed good luck  :)

The shock on my DL650 Wee recently went, lost all its oil and went pogo.

Bought a nearly new Hagon shock for a DL1000 off eBay for £160. Just received it today and it looks brilliant! Absolutely pristine

Brooks will re-gas it etc.. for £120 or a replacement hagon is £299.99 for one without the remote dampening module.

What I didn't say earlier was when I bought my hagon shocks I had them made to my weight for no extra cost, I also brought progressive front springs and heavier gauge oil which made a huge difference to both bikes, I did the v-strom when I bought it new 10 years ago and the bandit 17 years ago and both shocks are as good today as when I fitted them, I can not rate the blokes a hagon shocks highly enough.
Good luck with what ever shock you decide to buy  :)

fitted a Nitron to my 2015 glee soon after getting the bike. its the best money you will ever spend, vastly supperier to the standard shock.
