Headlights
« on: February 10, 2017, 13:51:42 »
Being of a short legged type, I've had to lower the bike down (using shorter drop links). This has had a dramatic effect of lightning up the sky at night. I do not fancy trying to drop the front since I quite like the riding position.
How do I adjust the front headlights? Is there an adjuster located in the vicinity?
Also, this has enabled me to refuse taking my nagging wife for a spin. I know you can adjust the rear for pillion but I'm sure I read somewhere that my actions have put an end to that.
Also also, extra spot lights. Any use?

What bike?
There will be adjusters for the headlight.
You should really lower both ends the same.

The up/down adjusters are below the headlights. Clockwise pulls the bottom back on the light above the adjuster so lowers the beam and vice versa. This Wee had orange bottle cap tops added to be able to do the adjustment without tools. The Glee adjusters are similarly positioned. The stock adjuster screws take an 8mm socket or spanner. Due to the cowling design, the Wee is easier to adjust by sight with a socket set while the Glee is easier to adjust by feel with a ratcheting spanner.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
