Do people actually buy these.??
Sorry, not used one but I would have thought any old bin bag would do a similar job for the occasional user.
I've put mine in a plastic bag when raining on occasion, but now stick it in my top box.

Strong wire mesh inside bag. Lock goes through loops in wire. Helmet less likely to get lifted whilst on bike.

I use a pacsafe version. Very good, waterproof and nice to be able to secure my helmet to the bike.

I left mine at Silverstone last year for 3 days in the soaking rain and my helmet was perfectly dry

As Rusty said it's security, waterproof which means you don't have to carry your helmet around with you.

Helmet normally goes in the top box unless its packed, then I use the helmet lock on the bike itself & just shut the lid if its raining, seemed to work out fine....of course that's perfect for the combo of an old Vee and a D-ring fastening helmet. I also have a very thin (5-6mm) and short cable lock given away by a bike magazine as a helmet lock...never used it yet.

I've used a long cable which loops onto my bike helmet lock to secure my coat/overtrousers (passing it through the arms/leg) in the past. Won't stop theft but adds a little security.
I always think those laptop locks would be good for motorcycles. Must be easy to create a similar hole they can locate in on a bike somewhere. Now there's an accessory idea.. :thumb:
