I've got a sweaty smelly helmet.
« on: September 02, 2016, 12:46:34 »
After all these weeks of scorching hot temperatures,  it has finally taken its toll ... my lining currently smells like Saddam Hussain's jockstrap.
It's a shoe neotec and only the cheek pads come out.. what's the best way of cleaning it??

I have seen a you tube video where it's cleaned with a bowl of Luke warm water and baby shampoo but he filled the helmet up and used it like a washing bowl.
I've seen the muc off stuff for £8 .. but does that really work.

Any help appreciated  :thumb:

Everything comes out of a neotec. Go online to Shoei, product support, download care and cleaning leaflet. You end up with 2 cheek pads, ear/speaker covers,  2 strap covers and a main bit that looks like a 1970 cycle helmet.

As above.  Hand-wash it in the sink with luke-warm water and washing powder, rinse thoroughly and leave to dry somewhere warm. Mine goes in the conservatory and takes a day or so to dry depending on how sunny it is.

Did you by any chance attend a Catholic boarding school as a young lad?

I was always on my knees in front of the priest getting splashed by his holy water  :)

I heard you worked at a Chinese take away. You provided the creamofsomeyoungguy...  lol
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.
