2016 vstrom 1000 Fatbar conversion
« on: July 09, 2016, 14:32:31 »
Just completed Renthal fatbar conversion to my vstrom using Rizoma universal 60mm risers and Renthal 819-01 fatbars. This has given me almost same reach and  height. Bar end weights were fixed in with a 12mm rawl bolt and a stainless steel countersunk screw. Very happy with the finished result.

That looks brill. I bet you're chuffed to bits.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

No that was the diameter of the rawl bolt the thread size was m6 took out hex bolt and used an m6 stainless steel countersunk machine screw instead.

That looks great, I'm not keen on the stock bars for shape, might have to do that myself..

I'm liking the look of that  :bow-blue:

And just recently I've been looking for replacement solutions for the bars - thanks very much for sharing.

Being nosey - how much for the risers and bars and from where did you get them?

Agreed with all comments, looks really good and will certainly look the part on my white and black one.

From previous postings I presume there is no strain on  brake and clutch lines ! :fix:

Looks good, but what was the rationale in doing it, since the new bars look to have the same dimensions as the stock ones? Do you have a pic of them facing forwards taken from the saddle?

(For some odd reason, I have a preference for the straighter style bar, ala R1200GS, but I don't know why and it can't be done on our bikes without a ridiculously high riser which will just look crap.)

I was thinking the same as SimonW.
I've heard of people doing fat bar conversations before but never understood the reason for doing it.

Yes it looks bling, but you can get standard sized Renthal bars that are different shapes to suit you.

What is the difference between standard and fat bars. I know cruisers usually have larger diameter bars, is this the result?
