Shad Top case and fitting. Very good
« on: July 24, 2016, 10:08:15 »
I have replaced my Suzuki Top case and rack with a SHAD case.  The Suzuki one is very good, but on the small side, I wanted to be able to place two helmets in a top Box.

The Shad is extremely good quality, but not the weight of the OE Suzuki one.  My initial enquiries with various SHAD dealers were you only needed the box as it comes  with a general fixing plate that will attach to your own Suzuki carrier.  happy days.  I went for the 45 Litre box and they have a huge selection.  AJ Suttons were the cheapest by far at a cool £108.00 (£136 and more elsewhere).  I ordered a colour matched panel for it and back rest.  AJ Suttons were second to none.  case arrived within days.  Very good service.  I then found that no way would the 'generic' plate fit on the carrier.  A bit of digging on net (and shad) then told me I needed a adaptor plate first.  this fits on the carrier, followed by the plate that comes with all SHAD boxes.   The adaptor plate was £45 (part number S0VS14ST).  In fairness to SUTTONS they gave me duff advise but so did two other shad dealers.  That was ordered with SUTTONS and also arrived a day later.
Here are a few images of the adaptor plate on bike, followed by the fixing plate with the box, followed by case on same.

I post this as SHAD luggage often falls below the radar and not as popular as Givi, but as good in every respect and lot cheaper. Very easy to install.
Recommend for sure.
