SD card problems
« on: July 17, 2016, 13:48:54 »
Gents, when I tried to move the photos from yesterdays chippy run from my SD card to the PC I got a window saying 'windows explorer has stopped working'. It then closed windows explorer. The SD card was in the card slot on the PC. I managed to copy them though, by putting the SD card back in the camera and plugging that into a USB.
However I tried to copy a movie from a micro SD card (in a card slot) and the same thing 'windows explorer has stopped working'! I put the card back into the video camera and plugged into a USB but this time it did not work! Got the same message, 'windows explorer........etc'.
I have copied photos thousands of times before & quite a few videos so this has just started to happen, any ideas please?
Thanks for any help.
Ps, I have run my anti virus program & an anti malware program. All OK.

Can you check with another SD card? Maybe the card is the problem.

I had real issues with explorer crashing every time I tried copying stuff or even right clicking and was heading for a rebuild. Then I ditched AVG and it all fixed itself.

And a month later my main SSD dies suddenly and I'm doing a rebuild anyway....

Thanks gents. Tried a few other SD cards & still the same & I don't run AVG.
Tried to put the micro SD card in an adapter & put it in the camera slot but the camera/pc doesn't recognise the video.
Might have to get a 'man' in to sort it.   :fix: :dl_smiley_banghead:
