Right passenger footpeg higher than left one!
« on: July 03, 2016, 18:06:48 »
Second ride with my girlfriend. She notices the footpegs are not at the same hight on my 2015 DL1000. Can it be a mistake at the dealer in assembling the bike with the footpeg from another model??? Is your 2014+ DL1000 like that?  :icon_exclaim:

Don't mind me asking but when your girl friend stands up is she straight up?
Do it today as there may not be a tomorrow.

Having my 2014 on the center stand the right passenger peg seems about 1cm higher than the left one.
Assembly wise all mounting points are given!?  http://www.suzukipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/suz/559424a987a86611a4e6d705/footrest

That seems odd... maybe the developer pillion walks in circles?

Yes they are different not the dealers fault that's the way they are made and comes from factory already attached to frame  :)

Measured, the pillion footpeg is 5cm higher on the right side. It's hard to believe that it actually went through design like that !

5cm's, that's a lot, .mine is about 1 cm. My wife never said anything about this, she just complains about the bad vibration in the pegs over 6000 rpm.

My bad (your bad what?). I don't know how I miss-measured, but I did.

I had measured last night on the side stand. Drove it this morning to my very patient dealer who popped it on the centre stand and they were millimeters diff between sides.  :dl_smiley_banghead:

So, apologies to Suzuki.  :shy:

Today, my son was pillion. With his long legs and huge feet, and the Suzuki cases, lowering and being able to move the passenger footpegs is even more important. So I'm still looking for a solution. Passengers must be comfy and able to ride for at least an hour...

I'll also have to check on my girlfriend's legs again...

Transport, you have me worried for my silly Sally now, I'm going to have to check her legs too, you might have started a trend here...

Wurzel,

Measure, re-measure, check thoroughly, just to be sure. Motorcycling obliges. Safety first.
