Better rear rack?
« on: May 23, 2016, 13:46:39 »
Anyone got a line on a rear luggage rack that is better than the OE effort but that doesn't cost a testicle and a half to buy? Flat alloy plate with slots for tie downs would be where it's at for me, but those I've found so far (Touratech and SW Motech) don't meet criteria 2!
I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that

Why not just make one?
Get some decent alloy plate & drill/cut slots as required.

I bought a piece semi-ready made at Stafford one year & modified it to fit the Givi top box mount.

This is the mk1 version (single trip to France so didn't have to be pretty!)

(and yes, it is an old tea tray....)

Carried a weeks worth of camping stuff round France perfectly.
