shad seat
« on: May 11, 2016, 11:23:08 »
Hi. ajsutton.co.uk have the shad comfort seat for the Veek at a good price at the moment. £166 delivered.  They only have the red piping though as I found out when my white one arrived red! lol  Factory sent all red even with the white part number! nice looking on the bike, can't say if its comfy though as this one has to go back.
If you're interested in one get their number off the web page and ring them as cheaper price not available online.  Cheers

Looks nice seat.  That said have not yet done a tour.  My first is latter part of June.  The stock seat felt rock hard when new but a month or so down the line it has 'given' a tad.
Anyone wanting a really good seat have a look at web site chap called Tony Archer in Huddesfield.  He did my Bandit 1250 seat and it really did become an all day total comfort perch. No numb bum????. Has your original and remakes it.  It is a father and son business. I will most likely get him to do mine this year.

I'm getting the shad seat with the white trim and the heater element,  rider only I think in a week r so; I'll post what I think of it.  Standard seat kills me after 100 miles,  sore tailbone.

Porter, I contacted Sutton's and they quoted £179.00 for the non heated seat, what is the score with the £166 price please, also how classy is the seat compared to stock or a Corbin/Sergent ?

They quoted me £166 for the standard seat. They've only got it in the red trim and sent me that by mistake so I returned it saying I'd ordered white, only white they have was the heated so there given me that!
Its a lovely looking seat, can't comment on the comfort yet. I'm sure a corbin or the like would be better but they're twice the price.

Done my first 100 mile on the shad seat today,  bit disappointed to be honest, tail bone getting sore again,  maybe not as bad but its still there. I'll see if it beds in with use
Certainly looks the part though.

I am not bothering upgrading the seat I got my Airhawks 2's out for my wife and I and will leave them on the DL, they are mega comfortable once you get the air pressure right, if you ignore the look of them on the bike it is a real working solution to a painful arse !

I have an airhawk in the garage somewhere,  never liked the way you float on top of it and move about under hard braking no matter what amount of air you have in it.
Hopefully this seat will give more over mileage, we'll see but for now the jury is out.

Sheep skin seat cover.

Lambland.co.uk £20

Turned a 200 miles seat on the wee into a 300 mile seat.
The Varadero's 300 mile seat is now a 400 mile seat... I don't have the patience or bladder for 400 miles though.

I sewed on a webbing strap to go under the seat so itcant fly away and tuck the corners under too.
