Just ordered a new vstrom 1000

My dealer has two new ones on his showroom floor. One black and one white one. And last time I checked, Portugal was still in EU. He also has few more models to sell. One Intruder 1800cc included.

Those bikes in your dealers are probably 2015 bikes. I'm waiting for 2016 AL6.

Yes, that's true. And you're right about 2016 model. It's free of all Recall needs and ECU swap need. Be persistent and wait for 2016 year production bike.

Just been to the dealers and given them my insurance details so they can tax my 2016 v strom 1000 al6. The bike looks superb. It was having the decals put on and the centre stand. Then pdi and I'll be picking it up later.

So, no worries about ECU, wires chaffing bellow the tank, water damaging connectors at the front of the tank and bad ground connection.
I just don't believe too much that relocating the ground wire solved anything... we'll see...

I've had my bike die on me because of the earth wire. I rode 100mile and stopped for a coffee and bike wouldn't restart,  tried everything but no go. AA fitted a secondary earth and away she went. I fitted the new earth connection today, hopefully it'll be fine but I'm keepin the other earth under the seat!

Congratulations on finally getting your new bike. You are very patient as the three week wait over Christmas and New Year for my new Glee really got me down. My bike is the Fibron Grey and think it's the best colour for the 650 (cue differing opinions).

Well, my new al6 dl000 arrived on Thursday about 4 hours after the captains, same colour and a slightly different spec but can't pick mine up till after the easter  holidays. Needless to say, the captain being such a nice bloke couldn't wait to send me a text message reminding me that I was the second person in the UK to have taken ownership of a  vstrom 1000. Cheers Shane, just thought I let the whole vstrom community know what your really like. .
