Reg/Rec Recall
« on: January 28, 2016, 17:56:31 »
I wonder if this recall in America is the one already carried out here?

Do it today as there may not be a tomorrow.

This recall is the one done about 6 years ago, I remember taking my 1250 bandit in to get it sorted (new reg fitted)

From VOSA Site
Regulator/Rectifier unit may fail in use due to poor adhesion between an internal circuit board and the external heat sink (external casing). resulting in an open circuit and failure. This causes insufficient battery charging current to the battery and can lead to engine stalling and non start when in use.

The link might not work as is. Load it and if it doesn't then change the capital S in Suzuki to a lower case s to get the link to work.

It's a downside of the filter changing the word Suzuki.

It's different. The earlier regulator/rectifier issue in which the circuit board may separate from the heat sink did not affect years beyond 2009. The USA had that recall too.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Sorry my mistake, the dates on the recall cover from around then upto 2012

Dealers will replace the charging system regulator-rectifier to fix the problem. Suzuki will notify owners and begin the recall repairs in early March at no cost to owners.

The recall covers the 2008 to 2012 AN400, AN400A, DL1000 and GSX1300R motorcycles as well as the 2008 to 2009 GSF1250S and GSF1250SA. Also affected are the 2008 GSX1300BK and GSX1300BKA, the 2008 to 2010 GSX650F, GSX-R600, GSX-R750, VLR1800, VLR1800T, and the 2009 to 2010 SFV650 and VZ1500.

It would be nice if the replacements were the SH847 series types used on the Veek.
