Hi all
Just wondered if there was talks of giving the DL650 Glee a facelift as the current model will soon be approaching 4 years old and the way the market and other manufacturers are going Suzuki need to be on top of their game as we all know the Glee is not purchased for her looks

Hopefully they will change it back to look like a Wee  :stirpot: That's a much nicer looking bike.

It certainly needs it. it is the only real niggle I have with, what is otherwise a great machine. It is crying out to be customised

Yup, they are going to fit a boxer engine, make it as unreliable as hell, slap on a 14 grand+ price tag then sit back and watch it soar to the top of the sales charts.

It's been face lifted. They stuck a beak on it

The Wee looked the same from 2004-2011. The Glee just got the XT variant last year. Don't hold your breath waiting for the next change.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

The stupid pointy thing aside, if they could just make it look less feminine  :smirk:

I was just about to say that and you beat me to it!

Yeah they gave it eye lashes!

and last year it had bad Botox and ended up with that beak/lip thing.

So you're saying it's not a beak, it's a pout?

I think it looks decent, much better than most dualsport/ adv bikes.
I'd much prefer Suzook spent money on tidying the moderate electrical installation, fiting an acceptable sounding exhaust & slightly better quality suspension.

Let's face it, not many of us ever looked at a V-Strom (any variant), and thought 'what a great looking bike'

That said, having owned every variant (apart from the daft pointy thing), I'm now more drawn to the 'classic' look of the Wee/Vee. Don't forget though, I am  :old:

I still miss my wee. After a year of it's passing  :bawl: I still look at the old shape wees and vees and prefer them over the Glees and Veeks.

As they say... Fine wine gets better with age... but I drink beer, so bought an 'onda

You wait until I unveil the Wee, it is truly modtastic! It is getting to the point where I will have finished bolting bits to it and will be forced to sell ride it  :smirk:

The two dealers I dealt with whilst test riding and buying my Glee recently both intimated that Suzuki were punting the L5's out at such a good deal because an updated model was expected.
It was suggested the updated mechanicals from the new SV650 rather than a new model.

Funny you say that as I purchased mine in December for such a fantastic discounted price and they seemed too quick to get the bike out the door. Also the space is still empty where the bike sat in the showroom. So you have to wonder if 2016 will bring something new. I have to say that I really like the look of the 1000 and would love to see that front end and forks, even the wheels on an updated 650  :thumb:

Difficult in France as it's La V-Strom! All motorcycles are feminine.
So how's it going so far then?
