Frame Protectors
« on: January 27, 2016, 20:42:49 »
I'm considering selling a kidney and buying the Suzuki Rubber Frame Protectors but then stumbled across these https://www.Suzuki-gb.co.uk/atv/accessories/product/range/vstrom/frame-protection-sticker-kit/

They are described as a 'Sticker Kit' but the image shows the rubber protectors? Or, is the sticker the black portion above the rubber?

Dodgy advertising or a bargain?

The picture is that of the standard rubber items. That part number on the advert is in the Suzuki accessories catalog and advertised at other places too. This one is for even less.

Rubber is cheaper than silver.

Had these fitted to my new bike on purchase. They are transparent stickers and cover the whole metal area. I think they must have taken the rubber bit off to put them on and then replaced it but not sure.
You can't see them unless you look really closely.

The last one of these I got from the dealership was £12 I think.
That was a couple of years ago.
Life is short - You have to enjoy it on a Wee-Strom!

I bought some "plastic bungs" off ebay, were about £3.00
Fitted in the hole, and sat about 5mm proud. It has stopped my boots taking the paint off the frame. I did post a picture, I will look for the thread.

Seeing as how the part number is different from the rubbers and in an accessory catalog for a bike that already has the rubbers and are listed as stickers, they must be as mrp192 has mentioned.

To answer your original Q, I ordered the frame protector stickers & they are just that, black textured stickers that fit onto the frame once the rubbers have been removed, although they are still in their packet as I haven't had chance to do anything 'bikey' for a while  :(

Just to reiterate Orwells replaced the rubber pieces after applying the stickers and it is the stickers that are difficult to see not the rubbers.
I'll try and take a photo tomorrow but they may not show up too well.
