Sand or BB's
« on: September 03, 2015, 16:33:38 »
Has anyone filled the handlebars with sand or BB's and if so was is it effective with regard to minor vibrations.

Neither, try fitting Grip Puppies, they sorted my minor handle bar vibes no problem  :)

My 2015 650 has no mirror vibes so what's the problem macamx?

Do you have Suzuki engine bars or changed the original bars? How about tyres, what are on your bike, original Bridgestones......? (shudder)  :)
So how's it going so far then?

All sorted, I had fitted a Scorpion exhaust and perceived that it had slightly increased vibration levels, I have to admit that it was probably more in my imagination than a reality but did fit "Grip Puppies" which for me have improved the feel of the bike. I also rode a friends V-Strom and it was exactly the same as mine so it looks as if I was coming up with a problem that did not actually exist. Just to note I got a shot on the new Kawasaki Versys 650 now that really is vibration and of the most horrible kind.

And the new 650 Versys is supposed to have less vibes than the previous one... I find on my brother's that the vibes aren't too noticeable (and it does have better brakes)

Vibration was one of the biggest issues I had with the versys. Great bike for short blasts but on a long rides the vibration got to me.  As for the DL650 its brilliant, very little if any vibration at all rev ranges.  :)

It also handles and brakes very well also but as a bike to own and use, for me the V-Strom wins hands down.
