Clutch adjustment - moving wheel

Hi,
Had a quick go at adjusting the clutch today as there is a lot of free play at the lever. Seems the lever adjustment won't be enough so I understand I also have to adjust at the clutch itself.
One thing I did notice was that when on the centre stand and with the cable as it was before adjustment the rear wheel revolves when in gear when the clutch lever is fully pulled in. I've adjusted this now so the lever fully disengages the clutch. Still has too much free play for me.
Can anyone tell me if the clutch not completely disengaging causing the wheel to move (no matter how slowly) is an issue? As in, is the correct adjustment having a wheel that doesn't move when the clutch is fully disengaged and the lever fully pulled in?
I feel stooopid asking as I'm sure the answer is the clutch must fully disengage but I wouldn't bet my house on it.

It's normal for a wet clutch to transfer some power between disengaged plates, especially when the oil is cold and, before the first shift of the day, the plates are practically glued together.
Please put your bike model and year in your profile.

Mine has always done it on the Glee. My previous bike, 2001 Fazer also did it.

If it stops when you touch your boot on the side of the tyre then it's fine.
