rear caliper seal kits
« on: July 20, 2015, 16:20:49 »
I have a 2008 DL650 abs. I have been trying to source rear caliper seal kits for a refurb. I just can't seem to find any. I know that some bikes and years ( sv 650) tend to share parts but I have no knowledge of looking these up.  For instance, what seemed to be identical parts had 2 different part numbers. Are there different part numbers used in america compared to europe? Any pointers please?

Part numbers are the same world wide. There are no kits available from Suzuki. You have to buy individual parts. If you want to check for which bikes use what parts, do an Internet search on a part number and look for a hit from Partzilla. They often list all the bikes that use that part number.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Take a trip to your local friendly independent motorcycle dealer and ask them to get their Hi-Level catalogue out and order you a pack of caliper seals.

I'm  pretty sure the size for the rear on the 650 is 38mm.

The dealer gets these in a pack that contains five piston seals and five dust seals. The price he pays is under a tenner for the pack so don't pay too much.
