Brake discs
« on: July 20, 2015, 10:36:21 »
Hello.
Could not see a thread regarding this.
I may need, or will need new front dis's very soon, as they are very scored.
I have been looking around, and noticed that there are things called "wavy discs", for example a company called WIZBIZ do a fully floating wavy disc set for front for £160.
Question is, will they be any good over the ones fitted, which I think are the originals, some comments and/or feedback would be good, I expect Greywolf may have thoughts !!!!!

I put blackshadow ones on mine. Do a forum search and you should find some info on them. The cost was reasonable, put them on around 30k miles, the bike is now owned by my son as is on around 55k miles and they have been absolutely fine.
Now on a Super Tenere having put 64k miles on a 2011 DL650

I've seen some problems reported with some discs from China. The more material is cut out of the disc, the more likely it will be to cause problems.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Thanks, I thought the site said they were uk made, but I might have been incorrect, I will check.
I am very budget minded at the moment (due to not having any money !!!!).
I suppose if I did buy some cheaper wavy discs, I could then update on their performance for the rest of the forum. It all depends if my MOT tester will pass what is on the bike now, if he does, I will change to better ones next year, if he does not, it may well have to be the cheaper option.
