Kyoto brake pads.

Treated the old girl to a new set of front brake pads. Fitted a set of Kyotos like these:-

They are supposed (who really knows these days?) to be Japanese made by the same company that make many OEM pads for the big four makers there. Have done about 1200 miles on them and they seem fine, very similar in feel and power to the OEM ones that they replaced but a whole lot cheaper. Can't say how long they'll last but would recommend them at this point in time. Have used loads of non OEM pads in different bikes over the years and have had some I wouldn't use in my garden mower, but these seem fine and good value for money.

I have been using these for a few years now. Never had a problem.

I even used them on my blackbird. The general consensus was that I was going to die.

Still here to spend the money I saved.
I look quick therefore I am.

these pads (HH Sintered) are what fecked all the disks on my Wee.

ended up needing new pads every 6-7k miles and the disks were very badly scored. Mot testers must not have even looked at the bike to pass it.

Organic ones should be a little gentler to the disks just don't expect as much life as OEM or EBC ones.

Personally I've converted from EBC to the Ferodo Platinum after M&p's didn't have stock off the EBC GG ones a while back. Ferodo Platinum is what will eventually go on the Vara

Cheap but that's about it. For me they offered the worst of everything: lack bite, wear quickly & wear the discs.

That was some years ago so they may have improved but I won't be trying them again!

Watch out for those Ferodos, I found they wore very quickly and before I knew it I was grinding metal.
Now on a Super Tenere having put 64k miles on a 2011 DL650
