Holy crap! Never blip a throttle. That is not something that practice and time will improve. Stop it now. If you flood the engine, open the throttle while cranking until it fires and hold the throttle there until the engine runs without misfire. Then you can slowly close the throttle down to idle.

Throttle movements need to be smooth and gradual, not choppy.

Never do a quick open and close series. A quick open can be used for maximum acceleration but a quick close, or chopping the throttle, is asking for trouble. Chopping a throttle at high speed is the same dynamic as coming down from a wheelie and can cause a tank slapper.

Selecting the correct gear for the speed you are going will improve with practice. A lower gear and more revs than needed are acceptable through the learning process. Too high a gear and revs under 3000rpm will invite stalls and stalls invite drops.

Don't get used to failing. Failing to learn from mistakes is the killer. Don't continue bad habits. Change to good practices long enough to make them habits.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Thanks for the advice. Are you referring to when I was riding through the car park at the end?
