2005 K2 ????

Hi blokes, I'm only 3 days into my VStrom ownership so be gentle with me. I was looking at the V5 for my VStrom getting ready to register it in the Republic of Ireland and I noticed that it's a K2 model. It was first registered in October 2005, so I figure it should be at least a K4, can anyone shed some light on how this is possible.

A K2 is a 2002 model year by Suzuki's definition. It might not have been sold until 2005 but it was built in late 2001 or early to mid 2002. There is a build date on the frame sticker. Your avatar picture is small but it certainly appears to have the windscreen to fairing attachment that only appeared in the 2002-2003 model years.

Yeah, happens a lot, not a problem if was registered as new in 2005.

Yeah, first registered October 2005 on the V5.
I'm not too bothered, it's absolutely mint, I wouldn't say it ever saw a drop of rain!!
