I put iridium plugs in mine and after a 1000 miles did exactly what yours is doing, was in Italy at the time, luckily I had the ones I had just taken out under the seat, swapped 'em and it was fine! Happened on a mates TLthou too...... Seems these motors need the stock type plug in......

It really sounds like the wrong reach plugs were involved. The correct Iridium plugs work very well for a long time.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

thanks martin for the edit, this shows the difference between the ngk CR8EK and the shorter CR8HIX, but throttle body sync valvles checked as its on 24000 miles now, :auto-dirtbike:  new plugs and power commander back on and remapped to eliminate a slight hesitation at 2500 rpm and booom the stroms back better than its ever been

The correct Iridium plug is the CR8EIX.

thanks greywolf it just goes to show don't always believe what eBay suggests as the right item, but I'm leaving it well alone for now as they're changed well before there time anyway.

Welcome to the club Steve and the dyno and  map you  put on has just totally smoothed the bike out now right through the Rev range. I now finally have the bike running how it should and thanks again .  :auto-dirtbike:

I had the exact same issue. I looked like a complete spa driving through a town and of course cruising along the fecking revs were sitting arounf 3500 and the bike was spluttering all over the place.

Once I put on aftermarket exhausts the issue just got worse. Once I put a power commander onto the bike the issue stopped. Pulls like a stuck now with the dynojet map. Will get a custom map sometime in the future
