Stalling and power loss
« on: October 02, 2014, 23:08:16 »
Recently my Strom is stalling when coming off the throttle and pulling in the clutch to stop at junctions etc. Also have slight power blip at speed after 20 minutes of riding or so (and a couple of backfires).  All happened over the last week. Booking it in for a check up next week.  Also noticed a slight rattle at idle.  Wondered if it had a timing chain as it sounds like that sort of metallic rattle.  Any ideas welcome.  Serviced last year, with about 15k on the clock.

I'll be the first of many I suspect! Have a look at the throttle body rubbers where they attach to the throttle bodies - The Vee has a history of popping these off and can be responsible for the issues you describe. As to the rattle - does it go away when you pull in the clutch?

That is a great username!! :thumb:
