new purchase 2005 vstrom
« on: September 07, 2014, 21:38:49 »
I just bought a very low miles 650 (4300) all seems fine with it but looking at service records last one was a year ago, done 2700 since then. So it needs its 4000 mile service but is there anything I should look at? as it spent a lot of time in a garage looking at the old mots. Everything is original, even tool kit looked unused!

Change oil, filters, brake fluid and give the chain a clean & oil if needed. If it's still on original tyres, get rid of them, they'll be wood and dangerous (they were arguably dangerous when they were new  :) ) Don't fit Trailwings again, check the Tyres section for recommendations. Michelin Anakee or Pilot Road are popular choices depending on whether you want dual sport or road only tyres.

Enjoy the new bike, they're keepers :thumb:
