A lot of poo came out!
« on: April 05, 2014, 18:54:49 »
Well bought some Altrider crashbars for the S10 knowing they use the same mountings as my ACD bachplate, had to wait a week for longer bolts which arrived friday.

Anyway, one of the bolts, either coming out or going in, must have had a rough edge and nicked the thread in the head ..... SHIT.

Left the bike as I had to go to work (took everything of it of course). ran around all morning looking for an M12, 1.25 pitch taper tap (same size as original). found one. Blathered it in cutting compound (Trefolex  :thumb: ) and VERY VERY GENTLY picked up the thread and ran it all the way to the end.

It worked!!!! :) luckiest git alive!!!!

Couple of pics :)

What are those fork protectors made of? Neoprene or some rubber? Are they standard fitment or did you buy them somewhere? If so, where did you buy them?

More questions than an annoying kid!
