Cleaning the black on the wee
« on: March 14, 2014, 19:34:40 »
Hi all.

So have been all through the forum but to no avail.

How DO you keep your black side boxes and top box shinning?

Mine are now 4 years old but the black is suffering.

The stuff called back to black no good, boot polish also no good, some one on Google says
use a hot air gun!

Have tried wd40 and other sprays but still no luck.

To you all, thanks in advance.

Autoglym Bumper Care is the best stuff I've found, much better than Back to Black. It's a gel which lasts much longer between applications.

Not sure about the humour in this thread though     :)

I've used the Autoglym on car plastics with good results but my bike just grows grey gracefully, many swear by a coat of wd40 regularly, but what would I know, I still have the original warning stickers In place  :thumb:

I have a can of Mr Sheen with my bike cleaning kit too. It does a brilliant job on the plastics.

I only use it because the Mrs buys it... she is forgetful though. I remember her searching the boot of the car, going back to Tesco to see if she had left it there etc one day. She seemed to be having fun with the search so I didn't want to spoil this as I was using my new tin to polish the bike :D

I use my ACF50 rag and just wipe it over.
