Bought bike second hand, turbulence terrible for a 5' 9" person. First fix, from here, 10mm of rubber spacer on lower screws. Did nothing.

Blustery old day for testing but it's bright and dry.

OK start from scratch. Drop bracket to lowest setting but leave in 10mm spacers because it looks so vertical. Test run. No turbulence instead a lot of wind noise. Definite improvement.

Fit bracket in middle position ( original ). Turbulence terrible. Consistent result.

Fit bracket in upper position. Looks like it's hanging in mid air. But it is acceptable in today's condition. No terrible turbulence and reasonable wind noise.

It's looking hopeful.

Next I'll try more spacer.

I can see the appeal of the Mad??? bracket, might be a new year's present.

Final chapter in my fiddling.

It's now as high as it will go. It has 9mm of rubber tube as spacers under the bottom screws, this is just about the max to retain the original self-tapper plastic screw on the trims.

It works ! Up to any speed I dare do in the UK at Christmas it's as good as any bike I've owned.

But I can't stop thinking the Yank bracket would be a more elegant solution, we'll see later.

And what better way to start Christmas Day, testing a Wee. Oh YES

I'm still fighting with screen on my Glee. Bought it with MRA Touring Vario, terrible wind noise, no buffeting. Got Puig screen, no wind noise, medium buffeting. Now Givi Airflow has just arrived and I have no time to mount it before weekend. I hope for the best... I'm 6'2.5". I still feel far from my final chapter.

Well you've certainly tried hard. I don't recall you getting an adjustable bracket yet, that might be the last thing you need to purchase.

I've had 8 bikes in the last 20 years as a BAB and never had this trouble before. Very strange.

I've just mounted Givi Airflow but the weather is horrible, no way to test it. I hope for better weather this weekend.
And yes, the bracket was my last option if nothing else solves this shite.

Fitting Touno mirrors and extenders made a big difference with the standard screen (still fitted an MRA one though)

So, I reached the final stage of my trial/error work with screens. Givi Airflow installed and working perfectly.

Ah, but I don't like bodges so ordered the Madstad at 15:30 Wednesday. It arrived 10:00 Thursday. Fitted by 11:00.

Today I tested it. Up and down a dual carriageway. So easy to adjust. I eventually hit the sweet spot, pretty much full up and full tilt back like a sports screen

A touring screen on it may be even better.

Although not cheap it is a nicely engineered piece of kit and if the setting is not best in the rain it's a few seconds to experiment.

My Madstad has a crack in it. It might be due to a fall or me over-tightening one of the mount bolts. The round rubber pads that you have to stick on means there the mount can bend when you tighten it. Even if it doesn't crack right then the vibration of the screen as you ride could eventually cause the problem. All that said, it's still perfectly serviceable and I don't know if I'm even going to weld it. I'm just going to mount it better when the bike goes back together again. I ride off road with it so that might've contributed as well. I'm not moaning about the product at all though, I love the Madstad and would buy another in a blink if this one disintegrated.
