Vee fairing multiplug

Hi all, hopefully this is an easy question - can anyone advise me how to get apart the squarer of the 2 multiplugs inside my Vee's fairing, I.e.  the upper one in this photo? I've tried pressing the tab thing in, pushing a thin screwdriver into the slots in it, etc etc, and can't move the little blighter at all.

Are you sure you are pulling at the separation? It's the very short bit on the left. Hold the right part with the tab in one hand and the very short part with the fingers on the other hand. There can be corrosion sticking things together. Spray some WD40 in there and give it a few minutes to work.

Yeah, am pulling on the left little part, while pressing down on the tab too. Good idea on the wd40, I've given it a soaking, fingers crossed it'll move in a day or 2.

I must admit I hate trying to work out how some of these plugs come apart, especially when they're lurking somewhere you can't see them. Like the front indicator ones on the Wee where you have to lift a little lever UP rather than pressing it in as is more usual.

I wish there was a standard......

Usually my hands are in they way of my view anyway, so it's guesswork.
