Wolo Bad Boy Airhorn - Fitting Suggestions?
« on: August 16, 2013, 18:02:40 »
I just got a replacement horn for my DL650, the "Wolo Bad Boy" air horn (honestly, you couldn't make that sort of thing up could you). They look like a clone of the "Siebel Nautilus".

Was wondering if anyone else had fitted this horn and where they decided to mount it?

I separated the compressor from the horn and mounted the compressor under the seat behind a panel and the horn part behind the fairing at the front of the tank clutch side.

Cool! (the auto-correct changed that, it was actually C.O.O.L)

Thanks very much for the advice, much appreciated.

Unless you are talking about temperature the only other reason you would have to use that word is if;

1. You are twelve
2. You are American

No need to separate and incur a delay as the line pressurizes. The entire unit will fit inside the fairing on either side. All you need is an earthing rod clamp and a piece of aluminium.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.

I struggled to get the whole unit to fit and in the end I didn't fancy putting such a big horn near the forks in case it moved/interfered with steering. I don't notice any delay when I press the horn.

I haven't heard of a single problem being reported with a front frame mount of a full horn and many people have done it.
