60 is registeted 2010 but could be a 2009 model. In 2010 they changed the clutch lever switch  so different levers too. Have a look on your clutch lever for a large tab sticking out of the bottom of it. If it has that then u have a 2010 model
you can see the tab on the clutch lever on this picture here

If the VIN model year system is the same world wide, and I think it is, you can tell by the 10th digit.

model year 2002 is a K2 with a 10th digit of 2
model year 2003 is a K3 with a 10th digit of 3
model year 2004 is a K4 with a 10th digit of 4
model year 2005 is a K5 with a 10th digit of 5
model year 2006 is a K6 with a 10th digit of 6
model year 2007 is a K7 with a 10th digit of 7
model year 2008 is a K8 with a 10th digit of 8
model year 2009 is a K9 with a 10th digit of 9
model year 2010 is an L0 with a 10th digit of A
model year 2011 is an L1 with a 10th digit of B
model year 2012 is an L2 with a 10th digit of C
model year 2013 is an L3 with a 10th digit of D
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

That VIN number decoding doesn't seem to work in the UK. Mine doesn't have a 4 in the 10th digit (or any digit as it happens).

I do have an "e4" in some other coding and the "e4" is also on the VIN sticker. Maybe someone with a bike from any other year could check to see if there is an "eX" number on theirs, where the X refers to the year?

I have a 2010 abs wee. It also says e4. But honestly, check the lever type. 10 seconds and u can see if its an 09 marked as 2010 or an actual 2010

Without the 10 VIN digit working, the clutch switch is the best way to tell a K9 from an L0. Oh, and looking at the documentation.
