Wobbly Top Box - V-Strom 2013
« on: July 14, 2013, 11:15:36 »
Excuse the long subject, I am aiming at the search engines  :shy:

Anyway, the top box on my Glee - Suzuki V-Strom 2013 DL650, (OK, I'll stop now)  :)  has had a slight wobble. This means that when riding over the slightest bump makes the bike sound like a rattly piece of crap.

So, some crude spacing...

Can anyone recommend alternative rubber plugs that are slightly taller?

Could be easier buying rubber glue and cutting a piece of rubber to fit on rather thsn buying a spacer which fits

These seem to fit the bill. I'm now hunting to see if I have a modern device that measures in those ridiculous Euro Millitoids

Is the centre stand bump stop a possibility as an alternative?

I have a similar issue with the exhaust guard ..on my glee despite being fully tightened it moves and rattles ..it's on rubber inserts too ... Sub standard rubber ...not India rubber ..

this brings me to my wife's favourite topic ..of the moment ....sub standard Marigold gloves ...since they stopped being made in India and .....moved to china!

Self adhesive felt or rubber pads from any diy  store will do the job for the rack. Got some under the clamped edge of my Givi topbox. Just stack em till they fit tight. I had the same issue with my exhaust as well. Changed the exhaust. Problem solved  :)
