Exhaust clip (K4 Wee)
« on: July 11, 2013, 17:20:29 »
Am I right in thinking that the clip holding the silencer to the front downpipe is originally part of the silencer and not a separate part? If so, a daft bit of design in my book (having just snapped mine as the bolt was rusty and I wanted to replace it). Had to chisel the remains off and am replacing with a separate stainless item.

It doesn't appear separately in the parts book and looks as if it was originally welded on.

Mine has just been replaced at mot/service - rusted away to nothing. Mechanic put something like this on - good as new :thumb:

If you are talking about the clamp, just search for "Mikalor exhaust clamp" on eBay, you need the 43-47mm one for the Wee. They are stainless and the one I've fitted has been on there for 15k and it's holding up well except for some rust on the bolt (which is to be expected considering the conditions it's subjected to.)

Yes, exactly what I've ordered. I can't understand why it should have been integral with the exhaust in the first place.
