Glee EBC HH Part Number?
« on: April 19, 2013, 20:43:19 »
Hi and sorry to be a pain but I've searched the forum but can;t find a definitive answer.

I did the cardinal sin of AFC50'ing my bike and spayed (accidently  ) my discs and pads.

I've cleaned the disks but am going to replace my pads for EBCHH but wanted to make sure of the part numbers.

They're for a 2012 Glee and I was going to order -

FA 229 HH and EBC FA 231 for the front
http://www.brandedbiker.co.uk/EBC-HH-Motorcycle-Brake-Pads/EBC-HH-2-Pairs-of-Front-Brake-Pads-for-Suzuki-DL650-V-Strom-04-on-3320

and

FA 174 HH for the rear
http://www.brandedbiker.co.uk/EBC-HH-Motorcycle-Brake-Pads/EBC-HH-Rear-Brake-Pads-for-Suzuki-DL650-V-Strom-04-on-3321

I know they're the right pads for the Wee but will they fit my Glee.

Thanks.

Standard Suzuki pads are the same part number for the K9 & AL2 so the EBC's should be the same

Chris
I have a spare set of EBCHH for rear.
PM me if you are interested. We could make a deal - cheaper than online

Might be a bit late, bit I wouldn't recommend HH on the rear, they are too aggressive which can cause trouble. That said, I went through several sets and a high side (from a rear lockup) before I stopped putting HH on the rear. HH on the front and GG (normal) on the rear seems to be what most people are happy with (at least those that use EBC brake pads.)

I have ebc hh front and rear and I like them. really good stopping front and I like the better stopping on the rear. I have abs so have no fear of locking up
I'm sane, honestly. . . I got a certificate to prove it!

I would say that most people who don't like the HH on the rear have the older (non-abs) bikes. Those with the newer abs bikes don't seem to have any problems with HH rear pads.
I agree with Willbo & like the HH on front & rear. :thumb:

I fitted HH front and rear as I'm 22 stones and with the extra weight on the back can get away with using the rear brake a little more.

Very pleased with the result, don't find then snstchy at all.

Brake pins were a nightmare to get out. Will replace them next brake service.

If I had ABS I'd probably worry less about having HH on the rear. That said, the GG pads give better feel on the rear than the HH pads did, that translates to better control. I sometimes drag the rear in a corner for stability, but other than that I only use it at slow speed (1st gear and crawling) or sitting at traffic lights/junctions.
