I got £2500 for my 2006 DL1000 with no panniers or top box from CMW M/cs in Chichester which I thought fair and bought their ex demo Glee. So the overall cost to change was acceptable. I am constantly surprised that owners think a dealer is going to give them retail money for their car/bike. A dealership is a business and like any has to make a profit to pay wages, rent, rates etc before profits. On top of the our government take what is called margin vat, which is 20% of the gross profit between buying and selling price regardless of any preparation cost. Makes you wonder why some dealers bother with the nett margins, and why Tesco pulled out of both bike and car retailing. There's more profit % in baked beans
